Updates

Mark has been working on fitting the fiberglass fairings that fit on the vertical stabilizer and the rudder. I think we've decided to hold off on the final attachment of these until the tailcone is going to be attached to the fuselage. There are some fine adjustments that need to be done to ensure that the rudder has free movement, and Mark, being the ultimate perfectionist, wants to ensure that everything is 100% correct. He also finished the fabrication of the trim/servo assembly. Again, we'll wait until later to finish the complete assembly of the entire tailcone as it's easier to store all of the parts separately.

Speaking of storage. We've rented a 10 x 10 storage facility close to the house. We were going to keep the tailcone in the living room next to the horizontal stabilizer, but after Mark finished construction we realized that it was too wide to fit through the sliding glass door. I'm a little disappointed that we don't get to keep it inside as I was looking forward to having some modern art in the house.

The wing kit should arrive sometime early next week, so sometime between now and then we'll need to move the empennage parts and build the wing racks.

On the non-avaition front: Mark and I celebrated our 15th anniversary on 6/24 (hmmm . . do those numbers seem familiar for any reason? --- hint check out our N number) We were planning on spending a week on the beach in Mexico, but tropical storm Alex had different plans.  Good thing we'd purchased travel insurance and were able to cancel without any penalty.

To my wonderful, adoring husband, I'll gladly be your co-pilot (and navigator) for another 15 x 15 x 15 . . . more years.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
